In the last Connect magazine, the big hands-on event BEE Creative for all children and the young at heart around the EK community was announced for summer 2020. We had asked for self-painted pictures, photos and stories on our house theme ‘Bees’. Numerous artists then sent us their works of art – which we were delighted to exhibit at EK.
On May 20, World Bee Day, the campaign started and we got a big wonder bag full of imagination: wonderful, exciting stories and great drawings that show us how beautiful and colorful the world we live in can be. In addition, highly creative 3D artworks in collage technique, in which, for example, the wings were additionally glued to the painted bees on the paper, ironing bead pictures made with great attention to detail and carefully composed photos.
All artworks from the BEE Creative campaign were displayed in the EK entrance area throughout the summer and admired almost daily by employees and visitors. So there was a lot of praise for the participating artists – and, as promised, there was also a ‘liquid fee’ for taking part in the event in the form of a delicious jar of EK premium honey – specially collected by our own hard-working bees.
