EK invests in hundreds of tons of press capacity

EK’s well-maintained machinery and plant technology also needs to be regularly retreaded or replaced in its entirety with the latest upgrade. Then the representatives of a new generation of automatic punching presses, for example, move into our production area. Current examples of this recurring investment in new pressing power are the punching and forming lines from the renowned manufacturers Haulick & Roos and Yamada, which have proven themselves at EK.

EK recently invested in further new automatic punching presses with a press capacity of 80 and 100 tons. Thus, our company can also offer a weighty backup for higher tonnages in this plant area. The vending machines are now integrated into our MDE system and have long since made their successful start in series production. Ralf M. Kronenberg explains the background to this investment: “As far as the capacity utilization of our diecutting presses is concerned, we always want to have sufficient reserves, even at peak production times, to be able to react flexibly to further requirements at any time.” Incidentally, the new press force weighing several tons cannot be used solely for the ‘heavy’ forming processes. In fact, thanks to our in-house optimization, a wide range of even more complex molds with further forming steps can be clamped on these machines. Thus, both the universal design and the table size were once again significantly expanded and an adjustment was made with a larger flywheel in order to achieve the 100-ton pressing force already in the lower speed range.
