Art, culture & architecture
Whether art, architecture, theater, ballet or music – Düsseldorf plays in the top international cultural league. The density of museums in the Rhine metropolis is unique in Germany. The city is also rich in top-class architecture – the Gehry buildings in the Medienhafen and the Kö-Bogen by Daniel Libeskind are two outstanding examples.
There are two other important landmarks in the immediate vicinity of the Kö-Bogen: the Dreischeibenhochhaus, which rose 94 meters high in 1960 as a symbol of the economic miracle, and the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus with its white, curved façade as a striking contrast. The Tonhalle and the Ehrenhof, the Carsch-Haus, the Wilhelm-Marx-Haus and the Behrensbau on the banks of the Rhine bear witness to the fact that Düsseldorf was already thinking big in the first quarter of the 20th century. Those who want to delve further into history will appreciate the legacy of Elector Karl Theodor von der Pfalz, who bequeathed Benrath Palace in the south and Jägerhof Palace in the central Hofgarten to his city.

Movie night at the Hafenkunstkino
The harbor art cinema on the Platz der Medien is unique in Düsseldorf. Short films and animations are projected onto the façade 365 days a year after dark. The square in front of the media center in Düsseldorf harbor was designed by the artist Günther Uecker on behalf of the city as a multifunctional square with an open-air cinema.

Treat yourself to a green break.
Hardly any other city is as green as Düsseldorf. Parks and green spaces run through the Rhine metropolis like a green axis. The Rhine meadows, the Hofgarten, the Volksgarten and the Nordpark with its impressive Japanese garden offer oases of peace in the middle of the city. A real insider tip is the Botanical Garden, which offers a special experience with its diverse flora. Whether you want to relax, go for a walk or have a picnic – Düsseldorf offers numerous opportunities to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature. The ‘MedienHafen’ in Düsseldorf: Breathtaking architecture, first-class gastronomy and creative business.
Düsseldorf’s ‘MedienHafen’ has undergone an impressive transformation from a former Rhine port to a modern center for media and creative industries. Once dominated by silos and warehouses, the skyline is now dominated by architectural masterpieces by renowned architects. Companies from the fields of media, communication, fashion, architecture, art and culture have found their headquarters here.
The port combines old and new in a unique way: Historic elements such as quay walls and railway tracks stand alongside modern architectural icons such as the city gate and the famous Gehry buildings. This mixture of historic buildings, modern architecture and the preserved harbor atmosphere due to its listed status gives the ‘MedienHafen’ its special charm.
The district is not only an office location, but also a lively place for leisure activities. Numerous restaurants, cafés and bars invite you to make culinary discoveries and are busy both during the day and in the evening.
